Your Senior Photo Session Client Closet is one more way I make planning your senior photos easier, more fun, and completely personalized to you. Every Colehearted Photography senior client has access to a curated collection of dresses, two-piece sets, skirts, layering pieces and statement outfits that can be incorporated into their session.
You absolutely don’t have to wear something from the closet. Think of it as an extension of your own wardrobe—and an easy way to add another look to your senior photos without buying something you may only wear once.
Some pieces are simple and effortless. Others are made for movement, color or that one big WOW photo. During your consultation, we’ll talk about your style, your locations and what you’re already planning to wear. From there, I can help you decide if there’s something in the closet that would be perfect to add.
I choose pieces because of how they photograph, not just because they’re cute on a hanger.
Flowy skirts give us movement. Texture adds dimension. Color can completely transform a location. And statement pieces give us an opportunity to create something totally different from your everyday outfits.
My closet is always changing as I find new pieces, but here’s a look at what’s currently available.

Perfect for: flowers • fields • country • spring + summer
This floral two-piece is feminine, effortless and one of those outfits that looks even better in photographs because of the movement in the long skirt.
I love it in wildflowers, golden fields and natural locations. Pair it with simple sandals or boots depending on the look we’re creating.

Perfect for: beach • flowers • fields • summer
One of the newest pieces in the closet! This soft blue two-piece has a ruffled off-the-shoulder top and long flowing skirt.
It’s such a pretty option if you want something feminine without feeling overly dressed up. The blue looks beautiful against greenery and flowers, but I also love it for a beach or coastal senior session.

Perfect for: graduation • cap + gown • flowers • spring
Every senior girl needs the option of a great white dress.
This simple white Nordstrom dress is perfect for graduation photos, cap-and-gown photos or as a clean, classic outfit on its own. It’s also adorable in flowers and gives us a completely different look from jeans or a long dress.
If you’ve been thinking about buying a white dress just for senior photos—check my closet first!

Perfect for: country • ranch • western • summer
This white ruffle set is SO fun to style. The shorts keep it youthful while the long flowing top gives us movement and makes the outfit photograph completely differently from a typical shorts-and-top look.
Add cowboy boots and a hat for a western feel, or keep it simple for something softer. This is a great piece when you want something styled and different without wearing a full-length dress.

Perfect for: country • western • urban • classic portraits
Simple, sleek and so easy to make your own.
Wear this ivory silk dress alone for a timeless look, or pair it with cowboy boots, a hat or an oversized jacket for something more styled. I love having simple pieces like this in the closet because accessories can completely change them.

Perfect for: country • western • fields • layering
This long cream Altar’d State piece has beautiful gold detailing and is one of my favorite ways to take a simple outfit and make it feel completely different.
Throw it over denim shorts and a simple top, add boots, and we have another entire look without needing a full outfit change.
This is exactly the kind of piece I love having in my Senior Photo Session Client Closet because it’s something fun you might not necessarily purchase for yourself, but it adds so much texture and movement to your photos.

Perfect for: golden fields • country • fall • statement photos
This rust lace gown is all about rich color and movement.
It’s especially beautiful against golden grass and country locations where that warm rust tone really pops. This is a great choice if most of your other outfits are casual and you want to add one completely different look to your gallery.

Perfect for: beach • lake • rocks • water
This long blue tulle skirt photographs beautifully anywhere near water.
Pair it with a simple white top and the skirt does the rest. The layers catch the wind and give us tons of movement, making it perfect for twirling, walking and those bigger, more dramatic images.

Perfect for: sunflowers • summer • fields • COLOR
If you’re a color girl, this one is FUN.
The bright pink absolutely pops against yellow sunflowers, greenery and golden summer fields. The long skirt also gives us plenty of movement while walking or spinning.
This is one of those outfits where choosing the right location makes the entire look come together.

Perfect for: water • fields • gardens • statement photos
Soft, feminine and definitely a statement.
The layers of blush tulle give this dress tons of movement and make it look incredible in photographs. I especially love it near water or in an open location where we have room to really show off the shape of the gown.

Perfect for: ranch • country • western • golden fields
This cream two-piece has a cropped top, flowy sleeves and a full skirt that was basically made for golden-hour photos.
Add cowboy boots and it is SO good at a country or ranch location. Because the color is neutral, all of the texture and movement stand out without competing with the location.

Perfect for: beach • cliffs • mountains • destination sessions
This is one of those pieces we choose when we want to CREATE something.
The burnt orange color, extra-long fabric and dramatic movement photograph beautifully against rocks, cliffs and Northern California beaches.
You probably aren’t buying this dress to wear to dinner—and that’s the point. 😂 It’s here for those few incredible images that give your senior gallery something completely unexpected.

Perfect for: beach • lake • country • summer
These ruffled two-piece sets come in both coral and blue.
They’re bright, youthful and have long skirts that give us plenty of movement. I especially love the blue near the coast and the coral against golden fields, but we can style either one around your location and the rest of your wardrobe.

Perfect for: spring • wildflowers • gardens • fields
A really pretty option for someone who loves florals but wants something a little more classic than a two-piece.
The pink floral print brings color without being overwhelming, and the long skirt photographs beautifully while walking through flowers or a field.

Perfect for: golden fields • country • boho • summer
Soft, neutral and easy.
This cream lace maxi is beautiful in golden-hour light and works especially well in natural locations. Add boots for a little country feel, or keep it simple for something more romantic and relaxed.

Perfect for: lake • beach • rocks • classic portraits
This long blush dress is a softer statement piece.
The neutral color keeps the overall look timeless while the extra fabric gives us beautiful movement. It’s a great choice if you want something dressier but don’t necessarily want a bright color or a dramatic gown.

Perfect for: beach • cliffs • open fields • WOW photos
THIS is the statement piece.
The extra-long red fabric is designed to fly, move and create drama. We don’t need to spend half of your session wearing it. Sometimes ten minutes in a piece like this is all we need to create one of the most memorable photographs in your entire gallery.
It’s bold, it’s different, and it’s exactly why having a Senior Photo Session Client Closet is so much fun.

Perfect for: fields • urban • simple + classic looks
These fitted midi dresses come in black and cream and are perfect if your style leans more simple and classic.
Wear one on its own or add a jacket, boots or accessories. They’re great base pieces that we can style differently depending on your location.

Perfect for: fields • country • wildflowers • spring + fall
This floral off-the-shoulder maxi is soft, feminine and easy to wear. The neutral floral print works beautifully with golden fields and natural locations, while the long skirt and side slit give us plenty of movement.
It’s a great option if you want something flowy and romantic without feeling overly dressed up.
You don’t need to decide what you’re borrowing before your consultation.
In fact, I don’t want you stressing about it at all.
Start by showing me what you love. Bring your senior photo inspiration, tell me what locations you’re drawn to and show me the outfits you’re already considering. We’ll look at everything together and build a wardrobe that gives your final gallery variety while still feeling like you.
Your Senior Photo Session Client Closet is there to give us more options—not to make you look like someone else.
A great senior session wardrobe might include your favorite jeans and top, a short dress, something that represents your sport or hobby, and then one flowy or statement piece from my closet.
That’s how we create a gallery that looks like your entire senior year—not five versions of the same outfit.
One of the biggest questions I hear from both seniors and moms is:
What should I wear for senior photos?
The answer isn’t one specific type of outfit.
The secret is variety.
If you bring four outfits that are all jeans with different tops, changing locations won’t necessarily make your gallery feel completely different. Instead, I like to mix silhouettes, textures, colors and levels of dressiness.
Think about combining something casual, something a little more elevated, something meaningful to you and something with movement.
That could look like:
Your senior photos should show different sides of you.
Your location and your clothes should work together.
This is a huge part of how I style my Sacramento senior photo sessions.
A long cream two-piece with cowboy boots can look incredible at a ranch or country location. A bright pink dress pops against a sunflower field. A soft blue skirt is beautiful against the water. A dramatic red or burnt-orange gown becomes completely different when we take it to a Northern California beach.
I don’t want you to choose five outfits and then randomly choose a location afterward.
We plan the entire thing together.
When you’re choosing senior photo outfits for locations around Sacramento, Elk Grove, Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Granite Bay, Lincoln, North Natomas, Carmichael, West Sacramento or El Dorado Hills, we’ll consider the season, colors, landscape and light.
And if we’re heading outside Sacramento for a Lake Tahoe, beach or other Northern California senior session, we’ll style specifically for that location too.
I’ve photographed high school seniors for more than 15 years, and I know how quickly senior year can start to feel like one giant to-do list.
Senior pictures shouldn’t be another thing you and your mom have to figure out alone.
That’s why the experience starts long before I pick up my camera.
My clients receive a complete style guide, help choosing locations, personal styling guidance and access to my Senior Photo Session Client Closet. During your consultation, we’ll talk through the entire vision for your session so you’re not left wondering what photographs well, whether your outfits work together or what you should buy.
I take the homework off your list.
And that doesn’t mean I’m going to tell you exactly what to wear.
It means I’ll help you take everything you already love and turn it into a session that feels intentional, beautiful and completely YOU.
This might be the most important thing on this entire page:
You do not need to wear a big flowy dress to have amazing senior photos.
If you’re a jeans and Converse girl, bring them.
If you practically live in cowboy boots, we’re wearing them.
If you love dresses, let’s use them.
If you’ve spent the last four years on a field, court, stage, track or with an instrument in your hands, I want that represented too.
And if you’re normally casual but have always wanted one photograph in a giant dress flying on a Northern California beach? We can do that too.
The client closet isn’t here to turn you into someone else.
It’s simply one more tool I can use to create senior photos that have variety, movement and personality while still telling your story.
Your senior year only happens once.
These photographs deserve more than living on a phone or hard drive. They deserve to be seen, shared, celebrated, and passed down for generations.
