Summer Family Fun Ideas| Roseville Family Photographer

Are your kids always telling you they are bored? Mine too! I have put together a summer boredem buster list to get them out of the slump!

1. Take them to the Drive-In Movies– Nothing screams summer like popping the tailgate down, throwing some lawn chairs in, a couple pizzas and a bag of microwavable popcorn in the back. The kids get to get out of the house and you get to give them a fun experience that you probably did as a kid too
2. Go for a Hike– Sacramento is just a short drive away from the mountains, there are tons of trails you can take the kiddos on to get out and enjoy nature. A couple favorite places of mine are: Table Mountain, Folsom Lake, Auburn, Lake Clementine, and if you are really up for adventure take a drive up to Tahoe and enjoy the breathtaking views!
3. Spraygrounds– Sacramento has over 10 spraygrounds in the area. They are free, and will cool off the kiddos while they run wild through the water. Afterwards you can enjoy a picnic at the park.
4. The MOSAC museum- is full of wonder and learning for the kiddos. This brand new museum is state of the art and is sure to keep the kids full of wonderment and joy for hours.
5. Build a Fort– Yes this seems so easy and silly, but honestly it kept my kids happy and busy for hours. They loved constructing the fort out of blankets and sheets, they would bring their toys, a flashlight and snacks in there. They were always so proud of what they had made!

This is just a short list to get you going, but boy did my kids enjoy all of these activities. We are so lucky to live in a city that is just a short drive to the ocean, and a quick trip to the mountains. Sacramento really does have it all.
