5 Things to Avoid Before Your Senior Photography Session | Carmichael Senior Portraits
Carmichael Senior Portraits. I can go on and on about what TO do for your senior photography session, but today I wanted to switch it up and give you some tips on what to avoid before your session. Senior sessions can be stressful, so let me take some of that stress away! I want your portrait experience to be memorable, and I’ve done this so many times that I know exactly what to do to help you prepare for the best session and to make things run smoothly!
So let’s get started!
#1 Self- tanner- somethings are better left to the professionals. It’s better to have an all over nice even glow, rather than orange or dark spots in your creases or in places you can’t see. If you do decide to spray tan, do leave a little wiggle room between your tan and your session date, this will help your tan settle in and look more natural.
#2 Big Chop- Now is not the time to drastically cut your hair, get your hair cut or colored at least a week in advance, this will give you time to grow into or fond of your hair if the scissors went amiss. This will also allow for color bleed to be washed away.
#3 Neglecting your fingernails- We will be shooting your entire body, it’s important to not forget the fingernails. Be sure to have fresh polish, or skip the polish, chipped nails don’t photograph well hahaha
#4 Facial peels or different skin routines- Now is not the time to try something new on your skin, your skin could get irritated before it gets used to a new routine, so play it safe before your session.
#5 Stay true to your style- Be you, this is sooooo important! I don’t want you showing up in something you don’t feel comfortable in. I want the entire experience to be amazing, so if you are worried about your shirt being too tight, leave it at home. Choose something flattering and comfortable – this will help boost your confidence during the shoot.
Above all be YOURSELF and prepare to SHINE for your senior photography session!
